Biography: |
The founder of the Surrealist movement. He was a spokesperson for the group, and was one of the most important poets. He had life-long friendships with Max Ernst and Pablo Picasso. He was, at one time, a member of the Communist Party and the Peace Movement. He also edited several anthologies of poetry, including “Les Freres voyants,” “Lumiere et morale,” and “La Passion de peindre.”
