His studies took him to Florence, New York, Paris, and Brussels. He became a member of the Surrealist movement in Paris, and stayed with them from 1947 to 1955. Later, he became part of the Belgian Surrealist group. He is known for his painting, “The Law of the Legend” (1946), as well as others.
